Hi, I’m Ben, a fourth-year undergraduate majoring in computer science at the University of Chicago. I’m interested in privacy, security, and human-computer interaction, and want to help make technology more transparent and understandable to users.

I work on research with the UChicago SUPERgroup focused on understanding what people think about the inferences used for web personalization and ad targeting, and exploring how we can provide more transparency to users about tracking and personalization.

I’m also director of Uncommon Hacks, a student group that works to build community and encourage participation in tech. We run an intercollegiate hackathon in the winter, and other events throughout the year at UChicago.
